It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Michelle H. Taylor, on July 6, 2024, at the age of 68. She passed away of natural causes at her cherished home of over three decades. Michelle leaves behind a wealth of fond memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Proud of her heritage as a member of the Osage and Cherokee Nation, Michelle drew strength from her lineage, which also included Oglala Sioux and Otoe-Missouria ancestry. Her mother, Angeline Louise Shangreau, was the 2nd Osage Nation Tribal Princess. Michelle was proud that the legacy of her people continues through her descendants.
Born December 2, 1955, Michelle H. Taylor exemplified love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Her life showcased unwavering strength, resilience, and compassion, touching countless lives with her selflessness. She emanated beauty inside and out, and her deep love for Jesus was evident in everything she did. Her children consider themselves blessed to have her as their mother, feeling God's favor through her loving presence.
Michelle was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days. She was a beacon of light and love, known for being creative and crafty, particularly in her passion of crafting beautiful beaded jewelry. Her creative talents knew no bounds.
Throughout her life, Michelle met challenges with grace and optimism, consistently uplifting others with her positivity and encouragement. In 2009, she displayed tremendous strength in overcoming breast cancer. Her legacy of love and selflessness will live on through her beloved family and friends.
Michelle is survived by her children Stephanie and (Don) Hall, Noel and (Logan) Zamora. Also cherishing her memory are her grandchildren Brandon Hall, Tiffany and (RC) Hoskins, Taylor Cunningham, and Emily Cunningham, along with her great-grandchildren Braydon Hall, Everly Hoskins, Kaydon Hall, and Emmett Hoskins. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousin, and many beloved friends who were like family. Though we mourn her absence, we find comfort knowing she rests peacefully in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Moray Hartness and Louise Shangreau, her sweet love and husband Garry H. Taylor, her brother Tommy Hartness, and her sister and best friend, Lisa Castle.
A memorial service to celebrate Michelle's life will be July 26th at 11am held at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek in Houston, TX. The family kindly requests no flowers or donations.
Michelle will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Wahzhazhe Always!
