

Mildred Vance Ellsworth, an amazing lady with charm and grace, of Katy, Texas, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 22, 2012. She was born in Pittsburg, Texas on July 5, 1919 to Walter Lane and Mary Annie (Reynolds) Vance. Mildred moved to Houston in 1934 and in 1939 married Edward N (Ed) Ellsworth Jr. Ed and Mildred spent their early years in West University Place and in 1955 moved to Willowbend in Southwest Houston. In 1997, Mildred and Ed moved to Katy, Texas where she remained until her death.
Mildred, a devoted wife and mother, left a great legacy of love for each generation. Her knack for remembering “the little things” along with her never ending thoughtfulness and wonderful ability to entertain others left all who knew her with many cherished memories. She was unselfishly devoted to her family and friends with her gracious way and generous giving heart. She loved to see her family enjoying each other and becoming close. Her children were always her top priority and she enjoyed spending time with them and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Ed, her loving husband of 59 years and son Edward N. (Ned) Ellsworth III. She is survived by daughters Jean Ellsworth Mills, of Katy, TX and Jackie Bronander of Phoenix, Az. , son Theodore R. (Ted) Ellsworth and wife, Janie, of Katy, TX, daughter- in law Frances Langley Ellsworth of Montgomery, TX and daughter Janet Gill Morgan and husband Steve of Murchison, TX. She is also survived by 14 loving grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church from 1955 to 1997 and very active in their “Young at Heart” group. At the time of her death she was a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community in Katy and lived at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living Center in Katy.
Mildred and her family would like to thank all the amazing staff and her many dear friends at Colonial Oaks for the wonderful care and friendship she enjoyed there during the last five years of her life.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX with a Wake Service beginning at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community, 1530 Norwalk Drive, Katy, TX 77450, Msgr. Jack M. Dinkins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery with a reception following a short graveside service

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Timothy Wheatley, Jr., Philip Wheatley, Dr. Kirk Bronander, Edward Ellsworth, IV, Matthew Ellsworth and grandson-in-law Clint Herod. Honorary pallbearers are grandson-in-law Chad Pino and grandson Sean Ellsworth.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community.
