I worked at General Terrazzo Supplies, Inc. for Mr. Ed for 28 years.  He was a good man with a lot of good sense knowledge that he did not mind sharing.  I consider him a second father and I got to know and become close to his family.  Mildred was a major part of that family.  I remember that my mother told me that she went to High School with Mildred.  As with Ed being like a father, Mildred was like a mother to me.  I talked with her frequently and got to see her some also. After Mr. Ed left us Mildred and Ted still would come by from time to time.  I would make it a point to go to the car and speak with her.  She was always witty and had a sense of humor about her.  She will always be remember fondly in my mind and heart as well as her family.  God Bless.

I had the priviledge of spending a couple hours each and every Thurs. morning with Miss Mildred for the last 15 years. Her love and devotion for her family and friends was a truly unconditional. She was an amazing woman and a very special friend to me. i always considered her my Texas Grandmother. what a priviledge it was to have her as an example to how all of us should live our lives. The amount of grace and love she showed all was tremendous. I will always try my best to model the remainder of my life after what she taught me. I will miss her more then words can say. Many thoughts and prayers for her family. I will never forget any of you and will always be greatful for the love and friendship y'all showed me as well.

Although it wasn't easy, you never gave up on me,

I may not have been born from under your heart, but I grew within it
I know I'm neither flesh of your flesh, nor bone of your bone,
However, you are my mother I choose to call my own.

One of my most important memories of Grandmother happened when I was a teenager. I had always seen Grandmother as an elegant but fragile woman.  Then one summer I went to her home to help her with some little thing, I can't even remember what. She decided that she was going to compensate me for it and I decided she wasn't. So when she insisted, I waited for her to leave the room and hid it where she'd find it later. Then I gave her a hug and started to walk out the door. No sooner did I have my foot on the other side than I felt myself lifted (I was no little teen) by my jeans back into the house. The money was then shoved into my pocket and I never underestimated Grandmother's ability to be strong when strong was needed again. I knew that elegance and strength were part of her whole. I love her so much, and am grateful to know part of her is in me and all three of my daughters.

So sorry for the passing of Aunt Mildred.  She was a truly great lady.  I know what you are all going through, for Nancy & I have experienced it as well.  But she had a long life and we all know she is in a very happy place with many loved ones that have gone on before her. You will all be in our prayers.
