Minnie L. Hodges

She was born on the 29th of December 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mabel Louise Ivy and Sidney Scott Wilson. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur Business College. She worked for Texaco Oil Company when she married C.D. Hodges at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Houston in 1964.

After stints in Tulsa and New York City for C.D.’s career, Minnie was thrilled when they were able to relocate back home to Texas in 1968.

Minnie’s greatest joy was being a homemaker and caring for her family.

She was a member of St. Philip’s United Methodist Church for more than 40 years.

Minnie is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 48 years C.D. Hodges.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Vogeley and her husband Kirk, of Houston; her son, Keith Hodges and his wife Michelle, of Katy; grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Vogeley, and Daniel Hodges, and sister, Sarah Smith of Beaumont

The funeral service is to be conducted at 11:00 in the morning on Monday, the 27th of October at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church, 5501 Beechnut Blvd. in Houston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10 A.M.
