Sometime in 1970, she decided to move her membership to Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend H.E Potts and worked in many auxiliaries.
Ms. Minnie began working for the Houston Independent School District performing janitorial services. Mrs. Minnie loved her job and the children always were high priority. She was employed with the school district until she retired.
She was then called to a higher calling and moved her membership to Cornerstone Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Bishop William H. Sherrard in March 1988. There she served as an usher and remained there until God called her home on September 24, 2020.
Ms. Minnie was all about family and loved taking care of people whether she fed them her famous barbeque or gave out candy during Christmas. She was also a permanent fixture in her community by providing snacks for all the neighborhood children who passed her home. She has always had a servants heart, willing to give her last all while having a smile on her face. Ms. Minnie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Minnie Ola Rice was preceded in death by her Mother Bertha Ragston, Father Otto Chaney, Step Father Israel Ragston, Husband Ricard Ed Rice, Sister Maxine Norris (Paul Norris), Sister Delores Atkinson, Sister Natha Lee and Sister Billie Jean. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her Sister Thelma Jean and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
