On Sunday April 1, 2012 LaVandra Claushett Stevens departed this life to her heavenly home. LaVandra was born to Loratto Stevens Mitchell and Vandy Smith on December 9, 1987. At a very, very early age LaVandra was helped raised by J.C. Mitchell. She received Christ at an early age; she was baptized by Rev. Darryl W. Broussard at Greater Pure Light Church. She attended Nimitz High School and then went to Job Corp were she graduated with honor in Computer Science and later went to Texas School of Business and graduated in Medical Assistant. She was a member of Greater Pure Light under the leadership of D.W. Broussard. In 2000 LaVandra joined Groveland M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank Carter, where she remained a member until her death. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Lamatin Wilkin Gordon and Issac Johnson Sr. and Irene Mitchell and Alton Mitchell.
