Mollie O’Shea Abbs passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of her devoted son and daughter-in-law at their home in the Acres Homes community of Houston, Texas.
Mollie was preceded in death by her beloved father, Dreamon Dean, and her cherished siblings William “Willie B” Dean, Earl Dean, Dreamon “Red” Dean Jr., Larry Dean, James Dean, Gloria Dean, and Linda Dean. Her dear mother, Gertrude Dean, awaits their reunion in heaven.
Mollie’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her remarkable strength throughout her battle with stage four lung cancer and diabetes. She leaves behind her loving son, Fabin Lee Abbs, and her devoted daughter-in-law Artruh Leeah Fleming-Abbs. She was a proud and nurturing grandmother to Faleeon D. Abbs and Aleeah O. Abbs, who remained by her side and cared for her tenderly in her final days.
Mollie’s memory will also be cherished by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is survived by her devoted sisters Buela Dean, Brenda Dean, Doris Dean, Eula Dean, Elizabeth Dean, and Catherine Dean, who ensured she was lovingly attended to throughout her illness. Her brothers Donald Ray Dean and Edward Lee Dean regularly visited and offered steadfast support, alongside close friends and extended family.
Mollie O. Abbs will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the profound love she gave to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mollie O. Abbs told her son to “trust in God and don’t forget to pray everyday”.
A visitation for Mollie will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd. The funeral will immediately follow from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, The committal will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
