Mrs. Monica Michelle Grant

Monica Michelle Grant, 55, of Houston, Texas, peacefully departed this life on May 14, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

Monica was born in Houston, Texas, on June 6, 1970, to Norma Francis Smith and Joe Lynn Smith. She was raised in Houston and attended Spring Woods High School before beginning a dedicated career with the Spring Branch Independent School District, where she faithfully served for 28 years.

Monica was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and strength touched many lives. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for her loving spirit, warm heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Monica’s love, laughter, and beautiful memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Lynn Smith, and her beloved son, Taudarius Burnett.

Monica leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted spouse, Anthony Grant; her loving mother, Norma Francis Smith; her three daughters, Marquiza Grant, Antranecia Grant, and Shilah Grant; two brothers, Delbert Smith and Daryl Smith; one sister, Rotanda Smith; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and dear friends

Visitation will be held at Freedom Worship Assembly, 1401 W. Tidwell Rd. Houston, TX 77091, US, on May 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on May 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
