Morris Wayne Hendrix, 68, passed away May 23, 2017 in Willis, Texas. Morris was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas but grew up in Texas where he met his beautiful wife Paula. Morris served in the Vietnam War during 1968-1970 as an Army Ranger. Morris was a true soldier that fought for his country, family and friends. Morris went on to college to specialize in Machining, Morris enjoyed classic cars, playing guitar with his friends, and his biggest hobby was fishing with his son. In addition, he enjoyed watching football and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Morris’s final years were overjoyed by the gift of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a soft heart and continued the giving to charities in which his wife started. Morris will be missed for the loving father he was and will be in our hearts forever.
Morris Hendrix is preceded in death by his wife, Paula Hendrix, father Aubrey Hendrix and brother, Philip Hendrix. He is survived by his loving children, Mark Hendrix and wife Tricia, Rhonda Cox and husband David, Becky Amador and husband Johnny, and Lisa Cooper and fiancé Shawn; loving mother, Sybil Hendrix and sister, Shirley Hewett; grandchildren, Sheila Jimenez, John Amador and wife Adi, Ariel Rea and husband Alex, Justin Cassard, Brandon Amador and fiancée Brianna, and Preston Hendrix; great-grandchildren Tatiana, Cameron, and Alekzandr: numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 11:00am to 12:30pm, at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038. Funeral service will follow at 2pm along with full military burial honors.
