On February 4,1955 in Houston, Texas Yance and Virgie McGrew were blessed with a son, Carl Edward McGrew. At an early age, Carl and his family attended Trinity Gardens First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Charles Williams. He attended and graduated from Kashmere High School. He later attended Prairie View A&M University for a short time before enlisting in the United States Army, from which he was honorably discharged. Later, he met and married the love of his life, Sylvia Lorraine Felder. They raised their children in Houston, Texas. Carl's father, Yance; mother, Virgie and two brothers, Robert and Marvin preceded him in death. Carl leaves to cherish and live out his legacy: his wife Sylvia; daughter, Marina; sons, Eulis and Christian of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Eunis, Malicious and Alicia Woods; grandsons, Wade Pioucha, Anthony Porter, Jr.; great grandson, Brandon Davis, Jr.; sister, Clara (Wilfred) Plummer; sister-in-law, Emma (Thoris) Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives
