

In the beginning ... on January 8, 1928, in Houston, Texas, God blessed Phillip and Lena Culbertson with a baby boy named Larry Vaughn Culbertson. He had five siblings, all of which preceded him in death: Floyd Culbertson, Addie Reedy, Maude Godfrey, Mabel Pritchett, and Lois Garfield. In life…Larry accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. He graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School, Houston, TX In 1946. He attended Tuskegee Institute and later Texas Southern University where he met & married the Jove of his life, Johnnie Juanita Davis on December 23, 1951. To this union four children were born. Larry retired from Armco Steel where he worked as a foreman until 1982. His favorite pastimes were fishing and puzzles. He served as a deacon at Blessed Hope Baptist Church. He then served as deacon at Greater Vision Church until he departed for his heavenly home. In the end…there are three steps to heaven: Out of self, Into Christ, and Into Glory. Larry V. Culbertson departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Ha has taken the third step and moved from his earthly tabernacle, where there Is no pain, no weeping, no sorrow and no disappointment. Farewell Larry ... It's your time for peace. Larry leaves to cherish his memories: daughter Carrie Millar (Will/a), son Larry V. Culbertson Jr. (Berunda); daughter, Phyllis Spriggs (James) deceased; Thomasena Lindsey (Eddie); 7 grandchildren: Tlkara Young (Alfred); Laramie Serrano (Stevie); Johnitta Foster (Dedric); Allen Miller (Britney), Chaz Culbertson, Challis Cross (Johnathan), and Jorge Badil-Abish; and 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
