Mrs. Hattie Mae Coleman was born in Athens, Texas on September 4, 1929, to the late Howard and Mary Terrell. She graduated from Fisher High School in Athens, Texas and graduated from Cosmetology School of Houston, Texas. She worked as a Cosmetologist for over 30 years. She was married to Mr. Jimmy Coleman, who preceded her in death and remained a widow until her death. She accepted Christ as her Savior early in life and joined Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend O. C. Johnson, Sr., and remained a faithful member under the leadership of Pastor Jordan until her death. During her membership years, she worked with several ministries. She was a dedicated Greeter, a member of the Unity Guild, Feed the Hungry Ministry, a Sunday School Teacher, worked on the Pastor Anniversary Ministry and the Youth Ministry. She was a diligent worker and loved to serve at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Dorothy Manuel. Mrs. Coleman left to cherish her memory, a brother, Johnny (Lillie) Terrell of Houston, Texas; niece, Gloria (Jimmy) Johnson, Jeremiah, Mellisa, Nehemiah, Isiah and Paulis; great nephew, Terrance Jr. of Preston, Georgia; brother-in-law, Richard Manuel; niece, Jeanette Manuel; nephew, Michael Manuel of Flint, Michigan; god children Reggie Johnson, John Johnson and Rose Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
