She graduated at O.L. Price High in Taylor,Tx. She was baptized in Willow Creek at the age of 12 under the leadership of Rev. Elvis Evans. At the age of 15 she was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Taylor,Tx under Rev. Haywood. She was a majorette for O.L. Price and she played basketball. She is preceded in death by her father James Scott and mother Emma Jackson Scott, (3 brothers) Quintious Scott, Elvis Scott and Isiah Scott, (3 sisters) Beaulah Harrison, Eulah May Perry, Eola Scott and twin infant boys. Ida Ruth & Emmitt Andrew Anderson married in 1958 and out of this union six children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories, (1 sister) Mattie Scott(Austin,Tx) and (1 brother) James Lee(Houston,Tx) and 10 children: Beverly Scott(Houston,Tx), Brenda Carrington(Houston,Tx), Gwen McGee (Louisiana) Theresa Strahan (Keith) (Houston,Tx), Evelyn Anderson(Richmond,Tx), Marilyn Anderson(Houston,Tx),DorothymWalker (Randy) (Houston,Tx), Pamela Atkins(Houston,Tx), Donald Anderson(Houston,Tx), Cheryl Lee(Houston,Tx); a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, relatives and friends. Ida was a manager for many years, working numerous amounts of hours to support and care for her children. She was very strong, independent and very wise. She was the pillar of the family and the backbone as well. She served as an usher and very faithful servant for years at Northeast Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Strahan.
