On June 14, 1958, in the City of Houston, Texas, Glenda Denise Davis was born to the parents, Henry and Dorothy Boatwright. She was the first of four children to this union. Glenda was raised by both parents and her grandmother, Bertha Davis at a young age on Swartz Street in the Old Fifth Ward. The family moved to Peyton Street in the Houston Garden Subdivision where Glenda attended Houston Garden Elementary, Francis Scott Key Middle School and Sam Houston Senior High School. Glenda loved to dance, especially to her father’s music. On the evening of September 9, 2016, Glenda was called home by her Father to her eternal resting place. During the past several months, prior to her death, Glenda was overwhelmed and amazed to see how the Lord used her daughter and several others to not only help her during her illness, but to show her and teach her that she was embraced by love … not just love, but unconditional love. Because of this, she left this earth, embraced her gift of love and was free to start her journey in Heaven. Glenda was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Bertha Davis; mother, Dorothy Faye Boatwright; two uncles, Arthur Dale Boatwright and Clarence Boatwright; three aunts, Lee Andrews, Marion (Punkin) Boatwright and Rose Marie Boatwright Ferguson. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Desabian (Chico) Boatwright of Houston, Texas; daughter, Dorothy Boatwright of Houston, Texas; father, Henry Boatwright of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Bryant (Rita) Boatwright, Barey Boatwright and Ronald Boatwright all of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Caleb and Chase Boatwright of Houston, Texas; two precious granddaughters, Harlie and Skylar James of Houston, Texas. She also had one special Goddaughter, Ora Goodie whom she loved dearly; and a host of other family and friends who loved her.
