

Nancy Henna Chalmers, 91, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2013. She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Bloomington, IL, to Louis James Henna and Meeva Armbruster Henna. Nancy graduated from Springfield High School and Springfield Junior College, Phi Theta Kappa, honorary, in Illinois. She studied journalism at the University of Missouri. She was preceded in death by husband, John Edward “Ed” Chalmers; an infant daughter, Carol. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Edwards and husband Bill, Jo Ellen Weisner and husband Mark, and son, John E. Chalmers, Jr.; grandchildren Robert Edwards and wife Deborah, Ginny Edwards Honaker and husband Pete, Cody Bell and wife Jenny, Brady Bell, and Kelli Weisner Magallanez and husband Jason; great-grandchildren Logan Honaker, Tanner Bell and Caden and Brody Magallanez, and Nancy’s only sister, Virginia Hueseman and husband Robert (deceased) and niece, Kathy Hueseman Bishop and husband George.
Nancy volunteered at Spring Branch Medical Center for 20 years. She was also employed by Richardson Books as Accounts Payable Manager for 25 years.
Visitation- Pat H. Foley, April 4, 11:30 am, Service 12:30pm and burial at Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston Public Library (Oak Forest branch), or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
