Nancy was born on November 17,1945, to Richard (Dick) and Opal Dunn. She was the youngest of four girls and was incredibly proud to be the little sister of the “Dunn girls.” The bond between the sisters was something Nancy treasured throughout her entire life. As they grew older, they lovingly referred to their special bond as “the sisterhood.” They loved each other dearly and played a significant role in one another’s lives.
Nancy married John P. Fitch on December 27, 1962, and together they had three children, Nancy, Todd, and Darryl. She was introduced to the floral industry by her parents, beginning a career that would become a meaningful part of her life. For many years, Nancy designed flowers, made lifelong friends, and created countless memories.
On February 19, 1988, Nancy married Jerry Rummell, and together they shared 33 wonderful years of love, marriage, and life until his passing. Their years together were filled with love, companionship, and memories that Nancy cherished deeply.
Nancy found joy in many of life’s simple pleasures. She especially enjoyed fishing, including time spent at “the woods,” where she made special memories surrounded by nature and loved ones. She also enjoyed gardening and took pride in nurturing flowers and plants. Cooking was another passion she shared generously with her family. Maw loved preparing meals, sharing her favorite recipes, and teaching her children and grandchildren the cooking knowledge she had gathered throughout her life. She spent countless hours passing down recipes and offering guidance, often over the phone, helping recreate the dishes she made so well.
Above all else, Nancy loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy and one of God’s greatest blessings in her life. She was so proud of each of them and treasured the laughter, memories, and time they spent together. Her legacy will live on through her family, along with the lessons and traditions she passed down.
