Obituary of Naphasri K Chikiamco
Naphasri Chikiamco, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022, surrounded by her husband, family and friends. She was born April 10, 1941 in Bangkok, Thailand to parents Puan and Phad Kheokao. She attended Saint Joseph Convent High School and studied at Thammasat University in Bangkok. She later continued her education at the University of San Francisco in California where she met her husband. She was a devoted wife to José Chikiamco for 56 years and a loving mother to three children. Naphasri spent most of her days raising her children and grandchildren, babysitting and cooking. Cooking was one of her greatest passions. She loved being in the kitchen and catering Filipino food. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, gardening and above all, adored the time spent with her grandchildren. Naphasri was a very special person with a heart of gold. She always thought of others before herself and would go out of the way to help a friend. She was caring, loving, honest, empathetic, trustworthy and devoted. Her warm personality drew others to her and her kindness kept her friends loyal. She loved having friends and family over to share and enjoy her cooking. She would sometimes spend the whole day in the kitchen, cooking, talking and eating with her friends. She began suffering from dementia in 2013 and was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Chaveewan Kheokao; two brothers: Phaitoon Kheokao and Nara Kheokao; and daughter: Joyce K. Chikiamco. She left behind many loved ones and is survived by her husband, José R. Chikiamco; two children: Arick Chikiamco and wife Marisa, Moya C. Quiñones and husband Victor; Seven grandchildren: Mikolas Quiñones, Natalya Quiñones, Aliana Quiñones, Austin Harper, Aiyden Chikiamco, Acelynn Chikiamco, Aria Chikiamco; brothers Narong Kheokao (Thailand), Paibuljkiat Kheokao (Thailand); sisters Ranida Korone and son Geoffrey (Houston), Pensiri Virojtriratana (Thailand); and a host of nieces and nephews. Our family would like to acknowledge Resurreccion Abutin and Thanchanoke McRae for taking such good care of her and for being by her side the last several years. A visitation for Naphasri will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park.
