Nelia Harpin

Nelia loved to quilt, made one for each of her children and grandchildren. She won many awards at the Louisiana Parrish Fairs for her talent in quilting.

Nelia moved to Houston 10 years ago from Crowley, LA and has been a parishioner at St. Jerome Catholic Church ever since. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother; and her cooking brought all the kids home.

Nelia is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Harpin, parents and daughter Joyce D. Cruz. She is survived by her daughter Delores Lemp; grandchildren Charlton Lemp, David Lemp, Rhonda L. Hughes, Tracy Broussard, Nicky Broussard, Andrea Broussard, Kerry Broussard; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister Loynee Guidry, Merlene Guidry; numerous nieces, nephews as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors Tuesday, March 15th from 5-7pm with the rosary recited at 6pm . Funeral Mass will be at 11am on Wednesday, March 16th at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Drive, Houston 77080. Interment will follow on Thursday, March 17th at Shell Beach Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
