Fay was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, August 10th, 1933. She moved with her family to Texas and was a longtime resident of Spring Branch, before she moved to the Jersey Village area. Fay worked and retired from Friden Alcatel, but her true passion and purpose was being a Grandmother. There was no greater job for her than this, and she treasured her grandchildren beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Josephine Downey, her loving husband, David Fly Sr., and her brothers, Paul, James, and Earl Downey. She leaves behind her children, David Fly Jr., his wife Manuela Fly, her daughter Kelli Davis, her husband Joe Davis, her sisters, and brother in laws, Juanita Midkiff, husband Jerry, Linda Smith, Wanda Adams, husband Richard, her sister-in-laws, Maggie and Jan Downey, and her greatest loves, her grandchildren; Kaleigh Stanton, husband Taylor, Hannah Inkster, husband Cody, Brennan Davis, Carson Davis, Brock Michael Fly and her great grandchildren, Cambrie Inkster, Harlan Inkster, Holdyn Inkster, Steeley Kay Stanton, and her many nieces and nephews.
While she lived a full life, she will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and her neighbors. She loved to laugh, and she got her last one by making leap year her year of passing. She was never one for being doted on, so she probably thought we would only be able to remember her passing every four years. She got us all, just like she would have wanted.
