Today, we gather to honor the life and legacy of our beloved Nicole Pleshette Ceaser Love, a woman whose spirit, kindness, and faith touched all who knew her. She left this earth on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the young age of fifty-four in Houston, Texas.
Nicole was born to proud parents Chester and Janace Ceaser on July 4, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. Nicole built a life rooted in love, faith, and service in Houston, Texas. She had special relationships with her siblings, Derrick Jones, Keishla Ceaser-Jones, Adam Ceaser, and Charlotte Ilupeju. She spent her early education in Klein ISD and was a member of the class of 1988 from Klein Forest High School. She continued her education and completed an Associate’s degree from Houston Community College, demonstrating her commitment to growth and learning.
In 1991, Nicole married Paul Bernard Love I, and they went on to have their #1 son, Paul Bernard Love II, whom they raised and educated in schools in Houston ISD and Spring ISD. She had a special bond with Ms. Reba Love, her former mother-in-law. Nicole was a proud mother and nurtured Lil Paul into the United States Air Force Academy, where he graduated and was commissioned as an Air Force officer. Nicole was an active member of the USAFA Moms group, and she was the self-appointed “CEO” of the Football Moms. Paul Bernard Love II married Krysta Brun Love in March of 2024. Nicole was a lover of wonderful affairs, and she delighted in planning their simple, elegant wedding.
Nicole was an extraordinary daughter, sister, and friend. She was a devoted auntie to her nieces, Dominique and Brittni Colvin (Charlotte’s children), and Arick and Chris Jones (Keishla and Major Jones’s children), serving as a cheerleader, mentor, and source of boundless joy for them and so many other young family members. She also has family members of the four-legged kind always spreading love to Adam’s beloved English Pointer/Brittany Spaniels, Winston and Churchill, and Derrick and Kaye’s firecracker Chihuahua, Selah!
Nicole was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, but maintained a strong bond and relationship with her mother, Janace. Over the past ten years, they were more than mother-daughter. They were roommates and friends. They supported one another, traveled together, and enjoyed many events and activities. Nicole was known to take her Mom on many adventures, even when it was just in the city of Houston. The love and abiding care between these two will surely be missed.
Nicole's professional career spanned many organizations where she was an experienced administrative professional and program coordinator who excelled in her roles. At the time of her passing, Nicole was in her twenty-seventh year of service to MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a breast cancer survivor, the mission of MD Anderson was near and dear to her heart. Nicole supported many charities and organizations, including her work at Prevent Blindness, support for the MD Anderson Cancer Center Boot Walk, and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
Nicole’s faith was central to all she was. She accepted Christ at an early age, and she was a devoted member of several church homes, including New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Harvest Time, and Grace Church. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. She lived to fulfill the two greatest commandments: Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, all your soul, and your mind; and the second: Love your neighbor as yourself. It was said that Nicole “never met a stranger.” It didn’t matter if she knew you for five minutes or five years, she was going to spread her joy, and she would for sure tell you about her #1 Son, Lil Paul! Those who knew her walked away forever changed by her warmth.
Her life was a reflection of her name—Love. She cared deeply, gave generously, and lived with purpose. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy endures in the hearts of family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
