He is preceded in death by his parents, Ezekiel and Myrtle Stewart; his first wife, Ida Mae Blackshear; his children, Ernest Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Gregory Stewart, Norman Stewart, and Donald Stewart; his bonus children, Debra Wiggins and Sammie Gordon; his granddaughter, Porsha Stewart; and his siblings, Ethel Spriggs, Betty Hardy, Verna Mae Stewart, and John Stewart.
