Our beloved mother, Noma Lee, passed from this life to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father on the morning of June 17, 2024. She was born January 8, 1935 in Eastland, Texas. She often shared that her early life was influenced by her precious Grandma Della Mae, who made sure that she was in church every Sunday morning. Mother gave her life to Jesus Christ at the age of 13. She attended Eastland High School and enjoyed every minute of it, and loved her teachers. In fact, becoming a teacher herself had been her childhood dream. However, at the age of 15 she married her first love, Joseph Lee Marsh and started her family shortly thereafter. When Joe’s career took a different path, leaving mother heartbroken and with 3 little ones, she ended the relationship. She later met handsome, blue-eyed George W. Jordan and spent 64 years of her life with him, until his passing last year. Mother worked at the Bank of Houston as Head Teller for over 35 years. It was her first and only job until she retired.
Mother enjoyed reading, browsing thrift shops, doing sweepstakes, singing hymns, spoiling her cats, and just spending time with family and friends. Her vibrant personality and indomitable spirit blessed all who knew her. She always had a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her lips. There was nothing mother loved more than an interesting conversation with good friends. In fact, her cheery disposition and sense of humor lit up a room! Mother was deeply loved and adored by her family and many friends, and she blessed many lives.
Faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior was her strong foundation. Mother lived a wonderful life having a close relationship with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.
Mother is survived by her son John, daughter Sherrie, and son Forrest and his wife Betty; sister Ruby Allen, and brother Bill Harbin and his wife Stella; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George W. Jordan, son Joe, and daughter Cathy; parents Woodrow Harbin and Rose Nell; and sister Mary Clark.
