Nora Gautreaux Boudreaux was born January 11, 1920 to Effie and Gaston Gautreaux in Abbeville, Louisiana. She passed away on June 24, 2019 in Katy, Texas. Nora had three brothers and learned to handle responsibility at an early age. During World War II, she worked at Gulf Oil refinery in Port Arthur, Texas and was considered a valuable employee. After the war, she met and married Michael Alton Boudreaux, Sr. They had three children, Eyvette, Michael, Jr. and Marcine. They eventually moved to Bellaire, Texas to raise their family.
In 1953, they moved to 5801 Jackwood, Houston, Texas where Nora resided for 54 years. At age 89, she moved to Colonial Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Katy, Texas where she lived until her passing.
She was a devout Catholic and spent the majority of her years as a member of St. Thomas More Parish.
Nora loved bridge, working in her yard, traveling with the YMCA and family time.
Nora instilled in her children faith in God, honesty, a good work ethic, a sense of responsibility and most of all, love for one another. She spent most of her adult life working as a cosmetician in both Revlon and Lauder cosmetics lines.
She was preceded in death by many family members she loved dearly.
She is survived by two daughters, Eyvette Noack, Marcine Guyon and husband, Scott and one son, Michael Boudreaux, Jr. and wife Candy. "Bebo", as she is affectionately known to her family, was blessed with six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and great-nieces, she is also survived by her best friend Marie Figoski, Mama always said she thought of Marie as her sister.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care, support and love given to Nora by each member of the Colonial Oaks Staff during her ten year residency. We also wish to express our deepest thanks to the staff of Vantage Hospice, especially Linnie Roberson for the compassionate care they gave mom and all of us in her final days.
