Norman Allen Chatman was born on April 28, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Brought up by his parents Mary Chatman and Norman Howe. As a young boy, Norman adopted the nickname “PeeWee” because he had a tiny size in his early adolescence years. Norman was educated in Orleans Parish School District, shortly after Norman’s first born the late Korey Naka Chatman Sr. To provide for his son Norman picked up a trade in carpentry working in New Orleans.
As time went on Norman loved music, cooking, partying, and dressing up, PeeWee wasn’t missing a good time for nobody. In his early twenties Norman meet the love of his life Debra R. Chatman in that moment of time he knew Debra would be the woman he’d marry ten years later.
During marriage Norman and Debra was blessed with daughter Normanique C. Jones (Damion), briefly after they took the road of parenting their first grandson the late Korey Naka Chatman Jr. just after the passing of his first-born son Korey Sr. With all the obstacles Norman still stood strong and was there for his wife, daughter, grandson, and as well others too. Norman had a big heart and would always give to others in need even if it was his last, regardless if you were family or not.
After the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina Debra and Norman moved their family to San Diego, CA where they enjoyed the sunshine state. Twelve months later due to his wife job relocating, they moved to Martinsburg, WV and resided there for six years. The duration time there in Martinsburg shoveling snow and high mountain views, Norman and his wife decided to move to Houston, TX to be closer to their immediate family. Throughout the years spent in Houston Norman and his wife travelled, throwing or attending family gatherings, and as usual supporting family and friends.
On February 24, 2024 Norman Allen Chatman made his transition over to glory. He joined his son Korey Naka Chatman Sr and grandson Korey Naka Chatman Jr., where he is finally at peace.
