

Norman is survived by his wife, Sue Corgey of College Station, Texas, son Russell Corgey and wife Debbie of Conroe, Texas, daughter Jenny Fincher and husband Edward of Pasadena, Texas, stepson Roy Shelton and wife Melissa of College, Station, stepdaughter Trish Howard and husband Cory of College Station, Texas, his brother Leldon Corgey, and sisters Jaunice Thompson of Houston, Texas and Charlene Hughes of Anchorage, Alaska, 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Russell Corgey and Olive Elgin Corgey, his sister, Norma Lee Wenckenes, his son Tommy Wayne Corgey and his wife Frances Oleta Corgey.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 o’clock at Brookside Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00PM at the same location.
Norman was born in Houston Texas. Joining the United States Navy when he was seventeen years old, he was chosen to train in the engineering department and develop his skills in mechanical and architect drawing, drafting, physics and math. After serving in World War II on a newly developed naval destroyer, he worked in the water and oil well industry for over 60 years, designing, building, and modifying screen filtration machinery, a career in which he enjoyed and continued to work in until his final days.
He enjoyed fishing and boating along with many outdoor activities but especially fishing. He shared his knowledge and talents with his family and friends for the greater part of his life and provided many solutions and opportunities to those that he met. He will be missed and loved by many.
