93 years of age.
Born in Houston, Texas; drafted in 1943 and served in the Army Air Corps in Germany during the European Campaign. Norman worked for the Houston Chronicle newspaper as District Manager for 26 years. He retired to fulfill a dream of buying and restoring antique cars. At one time, he owned 128 antique American cars and was President of the Antique Automobile Association of Houston and Board Member of the Horseless Carriage Club and Model-A Club.
In 1990, Norman and his wife, Dolores, moved to Madisonville, Texas, to a small ranch; a dream come true. He was a member of the Harris County Deputy’s Posse, Sons of Herman and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Norman is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dolores Meyer; sons Norman Ray (Bo) Meyer, Eugene Charles Meyer; daughters Mickey Meyer-Sturgis and Edna Meyer-Nelson; brother Malon H. Meyer; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grand- children, 4 great-great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Delbert A. Meyer.
