He attended grade and high school in Tenaha/Timpson Texas and then enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps. from August 31, 1959 through August 30, 1963. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marines, he then earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and enjoyed a very successful career as an instructor and Inspector for the County of Los Angeles.
Uncle O.B. liked traveling and spending time with family especially around the holidays. He was a music connoisseur with a love for Jazz. He enjoyed and spent many hours “burning” his own CD compilations and then sharing his creations with family and friends. He was also a “foodie” and took great pleasure in sampling and sharing his food discoveries with the family.
Uncle O.B. was a generous man in both spirit and heart. He provided for, watched over and protected all his siblings. Although he never had biological children, he treated and supported his nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews with much love and kindness. His generosity to us all is unmatched.
Uncle OB is dearly missed but we are confident that he is at peace.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arris Thompson, his mother Marie McDaniel Thompson, his brother-Arris Thompson Jr, sisters-Nell Carolyn Shaw and Cletis Thompson, brother-in-law Edward Shaw and nephew-Nicholas Thompson.
