

Oberah Massie Fisher of Houston, passed to her eternal home on January 31, 2021, at the age of 97. Oberah was born to Mr & Mrs Marion Massie on October 11, 1923, in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Oberah was graduated from LSU where she was a proud member of Chi Omega sorority. She excelled in school, and used her gifts to teach many students at University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, La., Neville High School in Monroe, La., and Sunday school children wherever she lived.
Oberah was best known for her total dedication to the wellbeing of her family and friends, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a stranger. She truly had a Texas sized heart for the sick, whether visiting at the Medical Center, or a first time visitor to Houston, or those making Houston their new home, she had an uncanny determination to make people feel good about themselves. Oberah had a love for all things Houston, LSU, the arts, teaching English, and always enjoyed a delicious meal with family or friends.
Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, which she demonstrated by example, and shared with those who surrounded her.
Oberah was predeceased by her beloved husband Earl V. Fisher, her parents, sister Annette, and her daughter Suzanne, with whom she now rejoices in heaven.
She is survived by son-in-law Frank Reisinger, great niece, Leslie Lewis Titus (Lane), and great nephew Jason Aaron Lewis (Ainsley).
The family gathered for a private interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
