

Odell Grey was born on January 25, 1948 in Dallas Texas to the late O.D. “Odell” Gray and Virtis Nell Cardell Gray. He attended Fredrick Douglas Elementary School; Sequoia Jr High School and L.G. Pinkston High School where he played football and sang in concert choir. He attended Bishop College with a Full Music Scholarship. New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Dallas Tx, (raised and Baptized under Rev W.J. Shackleford). He served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents: O.D. and Virtis Gray; sister: Imogene Gray-Jones, on: Odell L’Shawn Gray. His grandparents: Ozzie Gray and Anna Blackman and Mack (MC) and Carrie Cardell
He leaves to cherish his wife: Madene Smith-Gray of Houston Tx; sons: Douglas Gray(Brittany) of Houston Tx and Brian Keith Gray of Colorado, James Gibson, Arron Gibson, one daughter Oneika Gibson ( Dartanion) of Dallas Tx. Brothers: Kenneth Ray Gray (Shannon), Elbert Dwayne Gray (Vivian), Tony McFarland (Sherrice) and one sister Roxie Gray-Witt all of Las Vegas, Nv. Special Aunt: Mildred (Boo) Rogers of Oakland, California Grandchildren: Jessica Gibson, JiRon Gibson, James Eskridge Jr., Jamendrick Gibson of Dallas Tx. Aubrie and Kennedi Gray of Houston Tx. A host of great grandchildren. Mother In-Law: Dora Mae Smith of Grandview; Sister In-Law: Eva Smith of Garland Tx. Diane Turner (Charles) of Garland Tx. Brother In-Laws: J.L.
