Olga Applegate

Olga "Gigi" Applegate was born in Vierzon, France, October 4, 1934. She spent her childhood in Nazi Occupied France, on a Farm in France tending to the goats for her mom. She met and married her first husband, Michael Saba, while he was stationed in France. She worked as an Inspector in New Jersey for a computer company.

Later married her second husband Earl Applegate. Then she moved to Texas in 2003 to live with her son, Mike, his wife, Bonnie and 2 granddaughters, Kayla and Christina. After the granddaughters were grown, she purchased a home in Humble and lived there until she moved into Novellus Assisted Living in Kingwood, Texas. She lived there for the last 6 years until she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, March 2, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ellie Gogol; mother, Anna Gogol of Vierzon, France; first husband, Michael Saba; second husband, Earl Applegate; daughter-in-law, Michelle Saba, wife of Nick Saba.

She is survived by her son's, Nick Saba, of Florida and Mike Saba in Humble, Texas; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Saba; granddaughters, Kayla and Christina Saba, of Humble, Texas and Alexandra Saba of Washington.

She will be laid to rest at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Located on Lauder Road in Houston, Texas on March 8, 2024 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Altus Hospice in her name.
