My wife Betty, and I, have been neighbors of Mrs. Olga Carrizales for nearly 40 years. Her Late husband Mr. Nick Carrizales was a great friend of mine. I remember Mr. Nick as a great craftsman when it came to building and creating Christmas yard decorations. The Carrizales's Christmas decorations were the main stay of our block. Mrs. Olga and her husband were committed to their children and grandchildren. Neighbors not knowing would think that something was wrong when they saw lots and lots of vehicles parked around their home. Little did they know, Mr. Nick and Mrs.Olga
were simply hosting a family gathering.

The love and devotion that was displayed by Mr. and Mrs. Carrizales to their family was second to none. On this past Sunday, I had an opportunity to visit Mrs. Carrizales as she was making her transition to her new home. The love and devotion that was shown her by her children, and grandchildren was truly an amazing sight. I realize her departure was earth's lost, but heaven's gain. The only picture that I can see now is, Mrs. Carrizales transitioning to heaven and her husband, Mr. Nick awaiting her with open arms. He replies., "I've been patiently waiting on you, welcome home".

Family, be strong. Your parents have left an awesome legacy.

I vividly remember meeting Mrs. Carrizales for the first time and being blessed by her gentle, peaceful, calming, wise, and loving presence. I knew immediately that she was a powerful woman of God strong in the faith and, without a doubt, the head of the family. She was the matriarch keeping the family glued together, and what an amazing job she did. Although I witnessed Mrs. Carrizales take her last breath, she continued, and forever continues, to make me awestruck. The letters that she wrote while she was alive, but which were not revealed until after her passing, provide invaluable lessons on the paramount importance of happiness, love, and a unified family. I wish that I knew her longer so that I could gain a fraction of her wisdom, but I know that she is in heaven with our Father.

I met this sweet woman forty-two years ago through my friendship with her son Nicolas. She was always so welcoming and loving, I felt like a member of the family. I will miss visiting her with Nick. My condolences to her family for your loss.
