Olga Cures passed away on January 15, 2026, at the beautiful age of 107. She lived a long and extraordinary life filled with love, music, laughter, and deep devotion to her family and Catholic faith. Olga is lovingly survived by her daughter, Etelvina Montilva, and her treasured granddaughters, Emmony Peña and Maclauren Peña.
Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, Olga was surrounded by the warmth of family and dear friends. These early years shaped her generous spirit and lifelong desire to care for others. She found great fulfillment in supporting families by helping to raise children. Her compassion, patience, and gentle presence brought comfort to many. Her love for children extended to her work at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she joyfully served in the toy shop, bringing smiles to young patients.
Olga embraced the world with open arms and a curious heart, traveling widely and delighting in new places and cultures. Music was one of her greatest joys, and it became the rhythm of her life. Inspired by her love of music, Olga discovered ballroom dancing—a passion that allowed her to express her joy, grace, and vibrant spirit. She proudly entered and won ballroom dance competitions, moving through life with elegance and confidence that inspired everyone who watched her dance.
Her laughter was warm and contagious, her smile unforgettable. Those fortunate enough to know her will forever remember the curiosity, kindness, and boundless love she shared so freely. Her life was a beautiful melody, and her memory will continue to dance in the hearts of all who loved her.
