

Oliver Walton “Dub” Stanley was born on the 15th of May 1918 in Waco, Texas and passed away on Saturday, the 2nd of October 2010, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Hardwick and Oliver Walton Stanley, Sr.; sister, Helen Grogan Lilly; and niece, Stanley Berry. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Agnes Rabon Stanley; brother-in-law, Ed Lilly; nephew, Bill Grogan, and wife, Sila Grogan; and great-niece, Shannon Berry.
He graduated from Waco High School, Texas A&M in 1940 and Harvard Advanced Management Program in 1967. Dub was a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant, belonged to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
He was employed by Cooper Bessemer now Cooper Industries for 29 years, Fluor Corporation in London, England for 9 years, and Consolidated Contractors Company of Athens, Greece in London, England and Houston, Texas for 19 years. He traveled the world for these companies making friends and transacting major business.
Dub Stanley loved the outdoors and was an avid quail hunter, fisherman, and loved his many bird dogs. Quail hunting led to field trials, and he won championships in trials all over the United States in professional and amateur stakes. In later years he became much sought after as a judge of field trials.
Dub and his wife Agnes are members of River Oaks Country Club and have been golfers wherever they lived.
