Our loving mother, Olivia Rodriguez Gonzalez, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 6, 2014. She was born to Jose and Zoila Martinez Rodriguez on August 30, 1925, in Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She met and fell in love with Jose Ramiro Gonzalez in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico, and soon after they married and began a family together. They immigrated to Texas, settled in Houston, and raised their five children. Her boundless love and caring heart served as the basis for what would become our family roots in Texas. As the matriarch of the Gonzalez family, she lovingly tended to the branches and eventual flowers on our family tree. After a prolonged battle with kidney dysfunction, she fell quietly into sleep and went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years and our loving father, Jose Ramiro, granddaughter Nicole, and great-granddaughter Grace. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Gloria and Antonio Renteria, Ramiro, Jovita,Jorge and Elizabeth, and Alegandro, as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
