Orville W. Burg, II, 86, of Spring, TX, passed away on May 25, 2026.

Orville was born in Houston, TX to Orville and Margie (Crain) Burg on April 10, 1940. He graduated from Milby High School in 1958 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Texas Western College in 1963, now known as the University of Texas at El Paso. He married Marilyn Martin on February 14, 1985 in Liberty, MS.

Orville worked in telecommunications for Transco Pipeline for 30 years. He later continued his career with IWL Communications and Dynegy Energy before retiring. During college he was a member of Sigma Gamma Epsilon.

He was actively involved in the Houston Glass Club, the First Class CW Operators Club, Texas DX Society, and the Katy Amateur Radio Society under call sign K5VWW.

Orville loved fishing, photography, traveling, and a good surf and turf meal with family and friends.

Orville is survived by his wife, Marilyn; 4 children, Heath Burg and his wife Patty, Haley Harper and her husband Jason, Hannah Burris and her husband Shannon, Heather Reid and her husband Colton; and 10 grandchildren, Tyler and Krista Burg, Blake and Dylan (wife Cayman) Rollins, Harley and Kyla Burris, Graden, Wade, Van and Raylyn Reid; his sister, Kay Moseley; niece Denise Burgess and her husband Mike; nephew Richard Rettig and his wife Kris.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
