Oscar Chavez, age 39, of Guanajuato, Mexico passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Oscar was a man who adored his family. He was proud of becoming a father, something he cherished. He enjoyed watching his daughter, nieces, and nephews grow up. They always made him smile. He loved cooking and was a master of the culinary arts. His fondest childhood memories included Roberta the pig and watching the clouds. His favorite song was "Like Red on a Rose" by Alan Jackson and his favorite color was green. He rejoiced in cooking, napping, and being a husband and father. Oscar was full of love and laughter, selfless, and caring. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Oscar is survived by his spouse, Ashley Brockway; his daughter Catalina Kiyomi Chavez; his father Carlos Chavez Fonseca; and his siblings Sandra Sorto, Carlos Chavez, Alejandro Chavez, Rolando Chavez and Fabiola Chavez.
Oscar was preceded in death by his mother Maria Auxilio Chavez; and his grandparents Matiana Hernandez, Fernanda Fonseca, Filemon Jacobo, and Nicholas Chavez.
A visitation for Oscar will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022, followed by a rosary from 6:00 PM to 6:20 PM.
