Oscar T. Valverde, Sr., age 85, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2015 at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born on April 27, 1930 in Galveston, Texas to Miguel and Guadalupe Valverde.
He is survived by his wife Luz Arcelia Valverde, daughters, Velma Contreras and husband Frank, Gloria Salinas and husband Tommy, step-daughter Julia Zavala and husband Emmanuel; sons, Oscar Valverde Jr. and wife JoAnn, Paul Valverde and wife Marianne, and stepson, Yerson Oropeza and wife Angelica; brothers, Robert Valverde, Gilbert Valverde, Richard Valverde, and Edward Valverde. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 13th at 10:00 am at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
