

Oyeyemi R. Aborishade, age 42, passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born on June 25, 1983, and resided in Shreveport, Louisiana. After this introduction, he will be lovingly remembered as Oye—fun, loving, kind-hearted, adventurous, selfless, devoted, generous, compassionate, hard-working, and gentle.
Born June 25th, 1983 to the family of Alhaji Hakeem Oyetunde Aborishade & Mrs. Funmilayo Aborishade, Oye grew up to be an adventurous boy who loved to read and enjoyed playing soccer. His elementary school education started in August 1989, at Saint Michael Primary School. He proceeded to high-school in 1994 at Apata Community Grammar School, where he demonstrated exemplary academic honor before rising to the top of his class in year 2000 and was chosen as the head-boy, a title reserved for a valedictorian.
After high-school, Oye took several gap years to work, build himself, and save up for college before enrolling at the prestigious University of Ibadan, in Ibadan, Nigeria in the year 2005. His awards in college include: Tallest, and Gentle of 2010. His field of study was Computer Science, and he graduated in 2010 with a Second-Class Honors. That same year he left Nigeria after securing admission to pursue his Masters Degree in Michigan, United States. He left Michigan for Houston due to the intense cold weather. He obtained his Master’s in Computer Science in Texas Southern University Houston in 2017.
Oyeyemi worked retails: Walmart & Men’s Wearhouse: 2010-2012. He worked as a correction officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from 2012-2014. He joined Cy-Fair ISD & Houston ISD where he thought high school Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc from 2014-2019.
He joined The United States’ Airforce in January 2019 as a cyber security, trained at Maxwell Air force base, Alabama at The Squadron Officer School. After his training, he was stationed in Diaz Airforce base as the captain in charge of his department. Decorations include the AF Comm Medal and AF Achievement Medal. His duties included serving as FLT CC Special Mission in Qatar from 01-Feb. 2022 to 06-Feb. 2023; Flight commander operations in Ramstein Germany from 19-July-2023 to 01-Nov.-2024; and Chief Cyberspace OPS branch at Barksdale AFB from 31-July-2025—Present. A Higher Level Reviewer Assessment described him as “an inspired servant leader who builds teams ready to answer some of USAFE’s most challenging mission sets.” He pioneered the squadron’s first tiger team efforts and oversaw planning of 29 TDYs delivering TS network capabilities to 27 main and forward operating bases spanning European and African theaters.
Oyeyemi married Kamelia Williams in January 2011 in a quiet ceremony. They welcomed their daughter, Miryam Aborishade, on June 4th, 2013. The couple divorced four years later. He later married Aina Okanlomo on October 21st, 2017. They welcomed Olivia Aborishade on April 25th, 2018, and Emmanuel Aborishade on May 2nd, 2019. The marriage ended in July, 2019.
Oyeyemi is survived by his 3 children, Miryam Aborishade, Olivia Aborishade, and Emmanuel Aborishade; his mother, Funmilayo Grace Aborishade; his sisters, Mujidat Seidu, Fausat Raji, Rashidat Oladapo, and Taibat Ayeni; and his brother, Ganiyu Aborishade.
Oye enjoyed running marathons, travelling, exercising, and spending time with family. He also volunteered at the Youth forum in Cy-Fair ISD & Houston ISD where he engaged with youths on career development and life skills.
He was a great family man who not only loved his children but supported them. He spent quality times with families, and enjoyed meeting new friends. Oyeyemi was generous, sweet, kind, and always ready to help. He never cut corners. He was thorough in carrying out tasks, and very patient to explain his results.
Visitation will be held on March 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US. A Celebration of Life will follow on March 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US. A Committal Service will take place on March 12, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US.
Initial gratitude goes to supreme God for allowing us to spend fourty-two beautiful years with Oyeyemi. Special thanks to families, friends, colleagues for their utmost support during this difficult time.
