Ozean Hampton 1938>2024 who passed away at 8:11 pm on October 16 peacefully at the age of 85 in the pleasant of her home. Born in Homer, Louisiana to Janie L Hampton and Richard O Hampton. In her early adolescence. Ozean moved to Haynesville, Louisiana where she began a full vibrant life she attended Claiborne Parish Grade School. During these memorable times with her family and friends, she was better known as "Pluggie" given to her by her precious, sweet Aunt Doil. She grew up in a warm-felt home alongside her older sister Ivory Smith." Boot" Shortly after she moved to Emerson Arkansas to continue her education. Later in life, she made a big change which led her to move to Houston, TX where she resided and made it her home and was known for her charm, grace, and deep love for her family, friends, and community. Pluggie had a dog named Brandy who she loved dearly She loved animals so much that she built her cemetery for animals. She got very acquainted with being a minister at God's Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. Later, she became an Evangelist for over 20 years at Christ Holy Temple Deliverance Church where she preached the word Gospel Under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy Singleton She was the kind of woman who would bright a room with her BIG smile on her face. The Queen was a fun-loving character who always had a good word to say about everybody. If there was a bump in the road she would say" I let God handle it, I am not about to fuss with you." She was a very affectionate, very dedicated, and very hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Pluggie's two favorite phrases were " great day in the morning" and "I declare." She had a heart of Gold. "Respected by all, loved by many," her most enduring Legacy is inspiring her grandchildren to persevere in tough times and always strive to evolve and keep moving forward when facing adversity. Pluggie had a deep passion for greenery and flora. She had had many achievements from being a Beautician to a songwriter which went viral in her early days to being a registered nurse til she began to have health discrepancies. But Oh This Queen was a fighter, being the last generation of them all, extremely resilient she stood firmly nothing could stop that Queen She would always say, She won't stop til she hears the trumpets. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves cherished, precious memories with her four grandchildren: Marlon E. James, his mother (Jeannie), Jhawun and Herschell T. Hampton, their mother (Nadine), Colby Hampton and his mother (Loretta) and his wife Naomi Hampton Falesia Abbot; great-grandkids Brittany, Daisha, Alyssa James Chance, Treasure Hampton, and three great-great-grandbabies; and the rest of her host relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her only son Oliver King Hampton, her sister Ivory Lee Smith &, and her great-grandson David A. Pena James.
