Patricia Ann Hall
September 25, 1940 – October 12, 2018
Patricia Ann, Pat Hall, native Houstonian, was born on September 25, 1940, to Theodore James, TJ Ted Hall, and Marie Clementine Strouhal Hall. Pat experienced enriching adventures as she was growing up in the forties in the Oak Forest neighborhood...finding outdoor adventures in the dense and untouched wooded spaces filled with nature’s hideouts, creeks, tree-lined paths, snd woodland trails where children played. Throughout her elementary school years, Pat had the opportunity to attend the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. Following her elementary schooldays, she then continued at St. Agnes Catholic School, completing classes through her graduation. After graduating, Pat followed her deep spiritual calling, and accepted a position serving with the Dominican Nuns. Several years later, when she discontinued her work with the convent, she became part of the business world beginning a career with Texaco, Inc., in the Houston based corporate offices. She completed many years in data processing, then became a customer service representative. She retired from Texaco after thirty four years of dedicated professionalism.
Once Pat retired, she enjoyed many years of traveling with friends and church groups...interesting cruises and vacations became adventures that allowed her to meet people, experience new countries, and learn about cultures throughout the United States and the world. Two trips to The Holy Land...island vacations...trips from the Atlantic Coastline to the Pacific Rim...Pat Hall was an enthusiastic and curious tourist! Each year, she scheduled several weeks of vacation time to spend with her brother, Mike, and his family. She always looked forward to the drive up to their North Texas home, and spending days and sometimes weeks visiting!!! She also enjoyed high-spirited and fast paced card games and Bingo with her friends, and was passionate about her adventures as a collector...with her voluminous numbers of enough books to fill a library...she specialized in faith based literature, and complete collections on topics of exercise, nutrition, and wellness. Pat always kept in touch with her friends from high school, getting together with them often for their retreats and good times visiting...and she always referred to those times together as such enjoyable visits with all “the kids!” Pat was a huge sports fan....always, ALWAYS supporting her local Houston teams...Houston Astros, Houston Oilers, Houston Rockets, Houston Texans!!!
Pat continued all throughout her life to stay connected with the church through the dedication she had to her great faith. To her credit, she became part of a number of important endeavors, such as Wellsprings, Inc.; ACCW, Arch Diosece Council of Catholic Women; NW Deanery; participant as a Eucharistic minister; membership in Faith in Action; contributor, St. Mary’s Seminary; member, Legion of Mary; member, Catholic Daughters; Province Director, NCCW, National Council of Catholic Women; member, St. Rose of Lima Altar Guild; participant in Childrens’ Liturgy Studies; and member and treasurer, Catholic Clerical Student Fund.
