She was born December 15, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Charles and Gelissia Beinhorn. She grew up on the family homestead in Oak Forest and graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1950. Patricia attended the University of Houston Business School and worked as an underwriter for American General Insurance Co. She met Art Hodde while attending high school. They dated after graduation and were married in 1954.
Patricia, also affectionately known as "Patsy", was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who lovingly supported her husband and daughters throughout their lives. Patsy was a dedicated caregiver for several family members over the years, only a phone call away for anyone that needed help. Patsy was a member of Oaks Christian Church for many years where she served as a Sunday School/VBS teacher.
Patsy volunteered at MANNA, was an Avon representative, worked in a Heights gift shop, and was a receptionist at a printing company. Patsy was always ready and willing to have fun with friends and family. She used poetry to highlight memorable times in their lives as well as in her own. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bunco, Bingo, and, particularly, any opportunity to play a slot machine. When not enjoying a challenging puzzle, Patsy participated in many social activities at The Forum. She specifically looked forward to the musical entertainment and ice cream socials.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Allaire Golden and Wilhelmina King, brother, Charles A. Beinhorn, Jr., husband, Art, and daughter, Bonnie Sue Hodde. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Carol Featherston and her husband, Donald, and daughter, Amy Colleen Hodde; grandsons, Stuart Featherston and wife, Amanda, Ryan Featherston and wife, Ashley; Great-grandchildren, Presley, Hudson, Noah, and Brody; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
