It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Kewekordes on October 12, 2018. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. We will miss her dry sense of humor and selfless generosity toward friends and strangers. Born on March 12, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia, Pat was raised in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Lakeland, Florida.
Pat met Josef Kewekordes, her husband of 45 years, as a customer in his beauty shop in Atlanta. After moving to Houston, she became an invaluable partner in all of his business ventures and the heart of the Kewekordes family. She loved and doted on her two sons, Josef II and Gregory, and never missed an opportunity to tell them she loved them.
Pat is preceded in death by her loving husband, Josef, and her parents, Helen E. Gray and Douglas Bivins. She is survived by her sister and lifelong best friend, Barbara McGaffey, her beloved sons, Josef II and Gregory, their respective wives Sharon and Andrea and her twin grandsons Joey and Tanner. Oma, as she was known to them, will be missed. But we take comfort in knowing she is once again together with her husband, Josef.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, well wishes and words of comfort during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please help us support the good people of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for all they do.
In closing, we say goodbye to an irreplaceable lady who was loved and admired by all who knew her.
