Ever the remarkable woman, Texan, Republican, and family matriarch, Pat Krischke succumbed to her only insurmountable challenge, Alzheimer’s, this past Friday. Born in 1931, Pat spent a lifetime in Texas, accumulating high achievement, from church and charity, to plays and politics, loving life, family and art, being always the best she could be.
Pat, PK to her family and friends rose to every occasion and delighted in every friendship. She was very proud of her participation in the Republican Party of Texas, and her involvement in the Republican Presidential campaigns for Ronald Reagan and George Bush. She especially loved all her friends in Crockett, Texas, where she spent her retirement at the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association, the local bridge club, and a special place called Camp Street.
Born in Kilgore, Pat spent most of her life in Houston; where along with her loving husband Herb, raised a family of four, and was an admired and accomplished community leader. She could sew any dress, feed any group, entertain any crowd and never break a sweat. The pinnacle of her “paid” career was her role as Harris County Judge Executive Administrator where she held this key administrative position for 20 years.
Pat is survived by her loving partner of 59 years, Herb Krischke, along with 4 children, and numerous grand and great grandchildren. Pat’s love and zest for life were contagious to everyone she met. PK has left a legacy of love and will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. Pat was also blessed to be loved by her caregivers Ruby, Ruth and, Jessica.
