Patricia Dossman Kubin, 86, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2018 with family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Patricia, “Pat” is survived by her husband of 62 years Charles C. Kubin Sr., son Charles Kubin Jr., wife Lori, granddaughter Hanna Rossy, husband Rob and great-granddaughter Ruth. Son Thomas Kubin, wife Dionne and granddaughter Taylor Phillips. Son, David Kubin, wife Carla and grandsons Kristopher and Blake all of Houston, Texas and daughter Laura Kubin Kaiser and grandson C.J. Kaiser of Virginia Beach, Va., her 104-year-old Aunt, Bertha Manning, nieces Corrie Dossman, Lee Dossman Burgess, husband Geoffrey and son Geoff, Jr. and nephew Edwin Dossman III.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents Beulah and Edwin Dossman, brother Edwin Dossman Jr. and wife Penney.

Pat was on born on December 13, 1931 in Houston, Texas. She attended high school at Incarnate Word Academy where she graduated Salutatorian in 1950. She married the love of her life Charles Kubin on September 4, 1955 and they resided in Houston, Texas until her passing.

Pat was an avid sports fan and loved watching all sports on TV or attending in person, especially March Madness and NFL playoff games. She was full of energy and rarely missed any of her children’s or grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. Pat was a natural leader and organizer, spending endless hours volunteering in her children’s neighborhood schools. She served as the Waltrip Booster Club president for many years and was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her PTA service. Pat also served as president of the Incarnate Word Alumni Association. She loved living in in Shepherd Park Plaza and was an active member of the Garden Club, Civic Club and kept a watchful eye on the neighborhood as a Citizens on Patrol member. Pat also loved travelling the world with her husband Charles by her side.

Pat never did anything halfway, she always gave 100%. Her greatest achievement was fulfilling her dream of having four children whom she loved and cared for throughout her life. She was very proud at how each of her children matured into successful adults and loving parents. Pat was passionate, energetic and selfless and will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mary Gonzales her faithful caregiver for the last five years and the staff of Autumn Grove Cottage in the Heights who cared for her the last 11 months.

A visitation and Rosary will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Pat Foley Funeral Home 1200 West 34th Street Houston, Texas 77018. The funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman Street Houston, Texas 77018 on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 am with reception following in the St. Rose Parish Hall. Private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Incarnate Word Academy Patricia Dossman Kubin Yearly Scholarship Fund, in c/o of Incarnate Work Academy, 609 Crawford Street, Houston, Texas 77002 or a charity of your choice.
