Patricia "Kitty" Court Maceo

February 11, 1952 – August 30, 2025

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Kitty” Court Maceo, who left this world on August 30, 2025, after a courageous and private battle with brain cancer.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kitty built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. At just 19, she married her beloved husband, Rose Maceo Jr., and together they shared nearly 40 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Rose was truly the love of her life; she carried his memory with her always.

Kitty dedicated more than 45 years to education, where her kindness, energy, and commitment touched the lives of countless children and families. Before beginning her long career as an educator, she worked as an X-ray technician, always drawn to helping others. Outside of work, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and sister. She adored her precious granddaughter and was always ready to pull out photos to share. In addition, she shared an unbreakable bond with her sister, her lifelong “partner in crime.”

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Amanda Maceo and her spouse, Christina Riojas; Andi Maceo Bibler and her spouse, Karl Bibler; and Anessa Carlson. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Savanna Rose Carlson; her sister, Vivian Akins; as well as many extended family members and dear friends. Finally she will be deeply missed by her constant companion of 15 years, Lucy the dog, who was faithfully by her side until the very end.

A Rosary and Mass will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Memorial Park. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. A reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. following the burial.

Kitty’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.
