Patricia Ann Mouftah, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She was born March 24, 1943 to Ernest Franklin Bennett and Sarah Ruth Whitson in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Patricia was a dedicated special education teacher with the Houston Independent School District for many years. She was kind, witty and had a good sense of humor. Our mom always liked the cold so much so that during a -70⸰ degree blizzard she persisted that the windows be left open during a power outage in Barrow, Alaska. She also enjoyed ice with every beverage; even if it meant a trip to the corner store to buy a block of ice.
She was an avid reader of history and theology. She had a strong sense of faith and loved to travel. She raised two beautiful daughters who adored her. Her last few years she enjoyed watching her only grandchild grow and play. He brought her a great since of joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samir Pasha Mohammed Sabri Mouftah and brother Eugene Bennett. She is survived by her loving daughters Sonya Mouftah and husband Ashif Ukani, Tanya Mouftah Thanos and husband Demos Nicholas Thanos, and her only grandchild Yazi Ukani and nieces Christy Ponder and Heather Surface. The family appreciates all the comfort and care she received from her caregiver Janet McDaniel. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
