Patricia Ruth Townsend

Patricia Ruth Townsend was born on November 9, 1945, in Houston, Texas, to the late Adell Jackson and Ruby Roquemore Jackson. She was the fifth of eight children and grew up in a home rooted in love, faith, and family.

At an early age, Patricia accepted Christ and was baptized at Central Garden Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ernest Brooks Jr. Her spiritual foundation would guide her throughout her life.

She attended Harper Elementary School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston. On June 25, 1963, Patricia was united in holy matrimony with Vernon Townsend. From this union came their greatest joy, a son, Desni Reuss Townsend.

Patricia was a dedicated and hard-working woman. She began her professional career at Sam Houston Memorial Hospital and later joined Baker Hughes, where she worked until her retirement.

On August 25, 2025, at the age of 79, Patricia peacefully transitioned from this life and entered eternal rest with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Adell and Ruby Jackson; her brother, Gary Jackson (Jasline); and her sisters, Shirley Jackson and Ruby Jackson.

She is survived by her husband and lifelong friend, Vernon Townsend; her loving son, Desni Reuss Townsend and his wife, Michelle; and her cherished grandsons, Dawson and Langdon Townsend.

She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Joyce, John, Lynda, and Larry (Arniela).

Patricia will be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
