Patrick Boudreaux

Patrick Boudreaux passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 in Kingwood, Texas, after a short fight with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), an aggressive blood and bone marrow cancer. He was born, along with his twin brother Paul, on October 29, 1952 in Arnaudville, Louisiana.

In December 1955 his family moved to his father’s hometown of Rayne, Louisiana where they lived until June, 1962. The family then moved to Houston where Patrick and his twin brother Paul attended elementary and middle school, and graduated from Sam Houston High School. Taking drafting in high school, Patrick worked most of his life in the pipe drafting and design field.

Through the years Patrick mourned from the loss of his identical twin brother, Paul, who died in November 19, 1975 from tachycardia at the age of 23. Patrick felt that a part of him had passed away that day.

Patrick was an avid baseball and basketball fan, following and attending the Astros and Houston Rockets games thru the years. He was also a person who loved to travel, exploring US and Canadian National Parks with family and friends. His travels brought him to all corners of our country, to Canada and a number of countries in Europe: France, Netherlands, Switzerland, England and Belgium. He found joy in the thrill of discovering the unknown rather than sticking to the more famous tourist spots. He embraced diversity at every level and appreciated the beauty in small, everyday things as well as glorious mountain landscapes.

Patrick loved his family attending birthday parties, family reunions, his nephews’ baseball games and holiday gatherings. His family was the center of his life.

Patrick was a music lover who attended many concerts of his favorite artists thru the years. His absolute favorite musical artists were Neil Young, Dan Folgelberg, Jackson Brown, CCR, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, Carol King but the list went on to include several genres of music. He especially enjoyed the music of the late 1960’s and 1970’s. It brough him joy, comfort, and calm to his life. This was reflected in his personality thru the years. He was patient, caring, and compassionate; he approached life with a relaxed attitude showing kindness to everyone he met.

He is survived by his brother Alvin J. Boudreaux, brother Charles Boudreaux and his wife Dorothy, his nephew Clark Boudreaux and wife Miriam; his niece Denise Boudreaux Clem and husband Kelly; his niece Nicole Boudreaux and her husband Ronald Shedd; five grand nephews, Colby Clem, Kyle Clem, Jean-Pierre Boudreaux, Jacques Boudreaux, and Odin Shedd.

He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Paul “Boone” Boudreaux, his mother Lucy Latiolais Boudreaux, his brother Paul Boudreaux, and his sister-in-law Carolyn Gibbins Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers are Clark Boudreaux, Jean-Pierre Boudreaux, Jacques Boudreaux, Kelly Clem, Colby Clem, Kyle Clem, Odin Shedd, and Ronald Shedd. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, from 11:00 to 6:00 PM with a rosary at 2:30 and service at 3:00. Reception from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

His funeral is tentatively set for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne, Louisiana, with burial next to his parents and brother Paul in St. Joseph Cemetery No.2, Rayne, La. Funeral arrangements in Louisiana are being made by Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
