Patrick Gill Collins

Pat is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Helen. His three sons, Patrick Neal Collins, Christopher Collins and his favorite son, Marley Collins (a golden retriever – 2 years old on the day Pat passed). Pat is also survived by this brother Paul Michael Collins, his wife Becky Collins, their son Craig Collins, his niece and Godchild Kendra Collins Heusinkveld. Additionally, he’s survived by his nephew Clinton Collins and niece Lynette Collins. Pat attended St. Thomas High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. He attended San Jacinto College, then enlisted in the Navy from which he received an Honorable Discharge.

Pat was working full time when he took a class to learn how to re-key locks. He became so successful at this “part-time” job he hardly had time to sleep. So, in 1974, he gave up his day job and began his own company, Collins Keys Inc., known as CKI Wholesale Lock Supply Inc. The company branched out to selling hardware to home builders and apartment communities throughout Texas and the United States. I’m sure Pat was proud to walk into his building each day to see his wife and two sons, who joined him each day.

Pat had a passion for plants and gardening. On trips, Helen would go to the Jewelry store and Pat would go the Nursery! He was a hard worker, who loved to keep busy. He did many projects at home, the office and the homes of his sons. He didn’t feel “accomplished” unless he was working on something extra each day. Loved to grill baby back ribs and sometimes they tasted like Domino’s pizza.

Pat Loved Helen – he brought her coffee in bed every morning and flowers every Saturday. He was a Huge Oilers fan, to the point that most of his cars were “Love Me Blue”. He Loved to party and was quite the dancer – known as the Salsa Man and said he “had no shame in his Game”. Pat loved to go to Colombia where he spent time with Helen’s brothers.

His absence will be felt for years to come but he will live on in the hearts of those who loved him
