

Patroclos T. “Captain Pete” Stellakis, 85, passed away May 20, 2010 in Houston.
Pete was born May 25, 1924 in Athens, Greece to the late Theodore and Evangelia Stellakis. He emigrated from Greece in 1958 and lived in Houston for the majority of his life. For 35 years, he worked for the United States Merchant Marines as a radio operator. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and later, a founding member of St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church. Mr. Stellakis was a member of the AHEPA and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Maria; three sons, Luke and his wife Catherine, Nickolas and his wife Megan, and Zane Stellakis; two grandchildren, Maria and Loannis and brother Costandinos Stellakis.
Trisagion Prayers will take place Friday May 21, 2010 at 7:30 PM at St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church, 1100 Eldridge Parkway, Houston, TX 77077. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church Fund.
