Paul “Pauly” Brueckner was born on August 12, 2004 in Mountain View, California and on July 10, 2017 he earned his wings after injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. Paul was only 12 years old, one month shy of his 13th birthday. Paul is survived by his parents, Karl Brueckner & Jennifer Lakowsky-Brueckner, and sister, Alexandra. As well as great-grandparents Lakowsky, grandparents Thomas & Betsy Lakowsky, grandparents Kathleen & Paul Brueckner, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins from both the Lakowsky & Brueckner family. Paul was an amazing boy. He was smart, witty, fun-loving, and adventurous. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, and friend. He will be missed everyday by his family.
Paul attended First Baptist Academy since January 2016 and participated in football and basketball. He also previously attended The Parish School and The American International School of Lagos. He was an honor student.
Paul was an avid reader, loved sports, and was very active in swimming, gymnastics, and baseball. Paul enjoyed playing chess, collecting coins, and playing board games with his family. Paul joined Boy Scouts of America Troop 599 last year and loved it. He loved the camping trips, shooting guns, archery, fishing, and exploring all the different Texas parks.
The wake will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 25th from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. The address is 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The church service and celebration of life will be held at Chapelwood United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m. The address is 11140 Greenbay Street, Houston, Texas 77024.
